This project consists of upgrading technology, mechanical systems, electrical systems, replacing roofing, replacing floor finishes and upgrading parking lots and entrance roads at the High School, Middle School and Woodland Elementary School.
Breitung Township Schools educates 1,680 students on the 305,000 square foot campus that needed upgrades. The school system realizes technology plays a major role in education and made this a focus in their bond issue to replace aging equipment and use smart boards and new clock and phone systems to improve communication.
Aging mechanical equipment was either replaced or upgraded to provide increased energy efficiency. The majority of electrical light fixtures were replaced with new high energy efficient fixtures with smaller and fewer bulbs. Leaky roofs were replaced and incorporated increased insulation. Over 48,000 square yards of parking lot and access road surface will be replaced. In all, the 3.5 million dollars worth of upgrades will sustain floors and roofs for years to come along with greatly increasing the energy efficiency though out the school district.
