City / County Building Renovation | Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan
The Project consisted of the partial renovation of two (2) floors of the City County Building and work was phased in order to accommodate staff remaining in the building. The demolition consisted of removal and disposal of concrete walls, concrete floors, CMU walls, miscellaneous steel, doors, frames, hardware, flooring, mechanical, plumbing and electrical. New structural steel supports a connecting secure walkway to the 1999 Jail addition for inmate travel to and from the courtroom. The office construction is metal stud and drywall with painted finish on the interiors and exterior walls are CMU with an EIFS finish. There is new flooring throughout the area of renovation including ceramic tile, VCT and carpet along with new acoustical ceilings. Cooling was provided throughout the building and upgrades to the heating system provided much needed air exchange. The electrical was upgraded as well and security measures put in place for employee and visitor safety.
