Michigan Technological University Minerals & Materials Building | Houghton, Michigan

This eight story 216,000 square foot building was built along the shore of Portage Canal. The building is connected to the main campus by a skyway. This state of the art building houses one of the largest metallurgical undergraduate programs in the nation. Besides the typical labs, offices and classrooms the building also has a fully functional foundry, arc smelters, crystal growth facilities and a host of other specialized functions.
