A unique opportunity was presented to the Northern Lights YMCA – Delta Program by Bay College in the form of a building on their Escanaba campus they no longer needed. The facility offered the YMCA expanded space for fitness areas, office spaces, and a gymnasium. Through the Request for Proposal process, Gundlach Champion was selected as the contractor for the renovation work. Having previously worked with the Northern Lights YMCA on their Iron Mountain, Michigan building renovation project, GCI was excited for the opportunity to partner with this repeat client. The overall structure is a 42,500 square foot pre-engineered metal building. Gundlach Champion renovated the space to include:

- Fitness Center
- Locker Rooms
- Existing Fitness Studio Renovations
- Gymnasium with bleachers and new gym floor
- Upgraded mechanical and electrical systems
