The Highway 10 Frac Sand Processing Plant is located just west of Plum City, WI on U.S. Hwy 10 approximately 40 miles southwest of Eau Claire, WI. The plant consists of an exterior run of mine loading system which conveys raw materials into the facility where they are processed through a wet plant, conveyed, dried, and elevated to four sand storage silos. Haul trucks are loaded via a fully‐automated loadout and scale system under the storage silos for delivery of the frac sand throughout North America.

Gundlach Champion teamed with Short Elliott Hendrickson to execute this Design‐Build project. In order to meet the owner’s desired completion date, some of the trades required overtime and second shift work. Gundlach Champion procured and self‐performed the installation of all structural and miscellaneous steel, wall and roof panels, major equipment, conveyors, and bucket elevators, and subcontracted the remaining disciplines of work. Approximately 70 workers were on site daily, and completed this turnkey project without a lost time accident.
