Beginning in the fall of 2019, Gundlach Champion has been working with the Erickson Center for the Arts and the team at Blomquist Architects to design a new Performing Arts Center for the local community in Curtis, Michigan. In June, we were awarded the project with a groundbreaking held at the new facility held in July 2020.
The new structure is wood framed with exposed wood beams in the main auditorium and entry vestibules. The Auditorium will feature tiered seating as well as a raised staged.
Foundations for the building are complete, as well as the slabs on grade. Last week, our crews began erecting the wall panels as well as setting roof trusses.
The new Performing Arts Center is scheduled to be substantially complete by January 2021.
